Description:

Bounteous is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated MS SQL Database Administrator to join its growing team. In this role, you will ensure the performance, integrity, and security of the organization’s databases, playing a pivotal part in ongoing projects and system health.

As a DBA at Bounteous, you’ll collaborate with development and operations teams to monitor and optimize SQL queries, validate database configurations, lead database migrations/upgrades, and support backup and disaster recovery strategies. You will work in a fast-paced environment and provide key input on new database features, documentation, and technical runbooks. Key Responsibilities:

• Review and optimize SQL queries for performance
• Validate and enhance database configurations and security
• Manage and implement database migrations and upgrades
• Establish robust backup/recovery and disaster recovery protocols
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and tune resource usage
• Support technical documentation, including configurations and runbooks
• Liaise with Operations Services to ensure seamless database operations

MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Query Optimization, Indexing, Database Migration, Version Control, Automated Deployment, Performance Tuning, Disaster Recovery, Backup Procedures, Documentation, Cloud Databases (AWS, Azure), Docker/Kubernetes (preferred)

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Database Administrator
• Strong working knowledge of MS SQL Server; proficiency in MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle is valuable
• Proficiency with performance optimization, indexing, storage, and caching
• Experience with migration tools and scripts
• Understanding of version control, automated deployments, and CI/CD
• Certification in database administration (e.g., MCDBA, Oracle Certified Professional) is a plus
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous
• Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and documentation skills
